Torbay Rum is a brand inspired by our love for the coast, passion for craftsmanship and producing high quality spirits.

In the be-gin-ning...

Our story started in 2021 with the launch of Torbay Gin, where we set out to create a gin that not only stood out amongst its competition but also resonated with the people of Torbay. Enter our colour-changing Devon Dry Gin, which has continuously grown in success since its release, winning awards from a local to an international scale. Most notably, it was awarded IWSC Gold in the Gin and Tonic category in 2023. This was the only gin in the UK to win this - one of six worldwide! Through Torbay Gin, we've had the privilege of working with fantastic organisations like Paignton Zoo and The English Riviera Airshow, meeting King Charles III during his visit to Cockington in 2022, and welcoming football management legend Neil Warnock to our distillery. It’s also given us the platform and inspiration to launch Torbay Rum.

Torbay Rum's First Release

Torbay Rum is a product of meticulous testing, extensive research and a dedication to quality from the team. Whilst our gin continues to grow, we wanted to expand our craft, creating a rum that resonates with Torbay. This is a drink to be enjoyed whilst watching the sunsets over our world-renowned shores, with a label celebrating our unique coastline. 

Our first release, our Golden Spiced rum blends Caribbean heritage with our expert craftsmanship, We’ve blended the finest rums with the subtle sweetness of pineapple and caramel, complete with a warming selection of spices. In our opinion, it is best paired with a ginger beer over ice - perfect for sipping in the sun or by the warmth of a roaring open fire. 

Our Mission 

We aim to put sustainability at the heart of what we do. Our rum’s label is made from cane fibre, a more eco-friendly alternative to wood-based paper, created from the byproduct of sugar production. It’s fully biodegradable. The wax that seals our bottles is also sustainably and naturally sourced. As a brand with a deep appreciation for The English Riviera, we aim to do our part for its conservation. We're working hard behind the scenes to work on some other exciting initiatives - more to come on that!

From the first idea to the final bottle, Torbay Rum has been shaped by our love for the bay. It’s a spirit made to be savoured, whether you’re watching the sunset over the bay or sharing a drink with friends.
